LG Electronics GSA 4081B DVD Rewriter
This drive has recently stopped recognising DVD discs.
It says 'Please insert disc into drive E' whenever I try to access a
DVD disc.
CD data and audio discs are accessed OK
System is:
Windows XP Home
Primary master = 200Gb Fujitsy HDD
Primary slave = 10Gb Maxtor HDD
Secondary Master = LG Electronics GSA 4081B DVD Rewriter
Secondary slave = Sony CD RW CRX225E
Radeon 9600 Graphics card
1Gb Ram
Drive has been working fine until today.
The only program recently installed is MSNProxy...uninstalled this
just in case.... no difference.
Things I have tried:
drive as secondary slave with CD writer as secondary master.
drive as secondary master with CD writer as slave
drive as secondary master only... no slave
Updated firmware from A100 to A101 (from LG website)
uninstalled drivers and removed drive in control panel to let XP
install them on reboot
Not sure if it's a good thing or not to have both CD drives on the
secondary and both HDD's on the primary.... but, as I said, it was all
working fine until today.
Any help gratefully received.
All the Best,
John
