which drivers?

My son has a Radeon 7500 and is using the catalyst 2.2 drivers. His OS is
win2k.

What I need to know is whether he needs to upgrade his drivers to play games
that require DirectX9 to work eg Will Rock.

His existing drivers seem to play all the directX8 games just fine but after
installing Will Rock (it installed directx9) when he tries to play it, it
just crashes.

Any help would be appreciated.
