which cable modem?

I am wanting to buy my own cable modem. I am trying to decide between
Motorola SB5100 or the Toshiba PCX2200. Any in put would be greatly
appreciated.

I am kind of leaning toward the Toshiba 2200 but have heard good reviews on
both.

Depends which makes and models your ISP uses??????

they use both............but I guess a cable modem is a cable modem pretty
much when it comes to all the major brands.

Many ISPs will only support certain makes and models so if they support
those two then you will be OK.

I have the Toshiba 2500, provided by Road Runner, and never been a problem.
It connected to USB port but has an ether net jack as well.

Comcast views the Motorola as one of the best available.
