Where's my Email???

Hi All
A couple of weeks ago I used Norton GoBack to fix an unrelated problem -
which it did. Since then however, my Outlook (2000) has been unable to
receive emails (though it can send them) forcing me to use webmail to
receive mail. What is interesting is that Outlook looks like it's
downloading the mail...but they don't turn up in the inbox! I was getting an
error message telling me to use the Inbox Repair tool to scan pst files. I
did this but the problem remains (I don't get the error message anymore).
Thinking it was time I upgraded anyway (and because I've lost my Office 2000
disks), I went out and bought Office 2003 and did a complete install (rather
than an upgrade. Actually I did the upgrade first but the problem remained).
Still the problem persists. Additionally, when attempting to download some
Office
2003 upgrade files from Microsoft my computer asks for the Office 2000
disks....damn annoying since I bought the new version because I don't have
the old disks
My operating system is Windows XP. I'm also using Nortons Systemworks 06 and
Internet Security 06. I should also add that I have checked my email
settings and they're all fine.
Any suggestions??
Cheers
Neil

Check to see how many PST files you've got on your machine. Maybe the mail
is going to one that you don't expect. Also, check your current set of
folders to see if mail is there but 'hidden' (in a folder you don't expect)

Thanks Vince,
Funnily enough when I searched for .pst files, he search returned "no files
found". Obviously that cant be right. I tried to download email again and
received the following message:
Task 'mail.optusnet.com.au - Receiving' reported error (0x80040600) :
'Unknown Error 0x80040600'
Any other ideas?

Did you enable searching hidden files/folders? The .pst file is a hidden
file.

Good thought Milly....I've searched the hidden files this time and it found 2
..pst files... "Outlook" and "Archive" but won't let me open either. They both
appear to have the same address though.
