Where's "My Computer" gone?

When I try to download a file from the Internet, the "My Computer" folder has
disappeared from the "Save File" Dialog box. I can't select any drives to
save to. I have currently made a workaround by putting a shortcut to "My
Computer" on the desktop and accessing it via that.

But also, when using Windows Explorer, "My Computer" folder appears empty
unless I have clicked the "Folders" button so the left of the window has a
treeview of all available folders and drives.

I would like to solve this as I know there is something wrong but yet I am
unable to find the settings to resolve this issue.

SPEC

Also, I am an experienced PC programmer/user with vast experience of using
RegEdit so there is no need to reply as if I am a newbie, don't be scared to
give me some advanced advice ;)

Thanks in advance for any advice.

All the best to you.
