Where the heck did the scroll bar go in Word 2007?

I don't really use it for scrolling, since the advent of scroll wheels on
mice, but it's annoying and even unproductive not to have that at-a-glance
indicator of where I am in a long, multi-page document.

Go to Office button > Word Options > Advanced > Display. If the option "Show
vertical scroll bar" is unchecked, check it. I thought it was checked by
default, but something may have changed it. Gremlins?

It is subject to the same Options check box as in previous versions; it's
just a matter of finding it: Office Button | Word Options | Advanced |
Display.

Found it, and indeed it was unchecked. Thanks very much for your
help. I'm very pleased to have my scroll bar back!
