Ok a bit hokey- but I am wondering
I just did a massive SP1 and IE6 update- now my security
tab is gone in the ie6 internet tools window. I do not
have a secruity policy set for this home based machine to
restrict access to the tab but it is gone nevertheless.
any help in restoring this wayward tab would be
appreciated

Spybot installed? Did you enable the 'Immunize' function?

I can't access my IE settings any more!

See this archived thread: http://snurl.com/1vpk

Start>Run>Regedit> in each of these keys...

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control
Panel

HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control
Panel

if in the right-pane you see...

"SecurityTab"=dword:00000001

right-click on it and Modify the 1 [one] to a 0 [zero], or just Delete
"SecurityTab".
(-Frank Saunders, TonyKlein, Mike Burgess)

IIWY I'd want to know how it came to be set to 1 [one]...
