Where is Windows 7 Beta 1

S

Shon Miles

I see that Windows 7 beta 1 build 7000 is all over the torrent community but
not available to us legitimate paying TechNet and MSDN customer's what gives?
If there is a beta why is it not available for TechNet and MSDN download?

I agree and it was on MSDN but it got pulled.

I am ready and waiting to test a 64bit build Win 7.

Some people are say MS have done this to get publicity, I am in 2 minds as
to believing this.

I have the PDC build as I attended the PDC.

Windows 7 Beta 1 (Build 7000) is currently released to the invite only
Technical Beta Program participants (and other members of other programs
such as the early OEM program etc).
A public Beta program which will include TechNet and MSDN subscribers of the
appropriate levels may begin later this month (January 2009)

I don't see the strategy in doing this for publicity, but I do agree
something is a foot if it was on MSDN and got pulled, I must of missed that,
I had not logged in for awhile.

I agree it sure would be nice to do some testing, esspecially with a x64 bit
version. We too have some PDC copies from attendees here, but hardly
anything in our environment has not had to pass 32bit testing for awhile,
since XP anyway, it is the x64 apps that always seem to need te most testing.

Microsoft, where is the beta, for your LOYAL PAYING MS technology community???

Can you provide the source of this information you listed? Or are you a

I am not at liberty to discuss the Tech Beta Program.
There has been a great deal of public discussion about a potential Jan '09
public Beta release.
for example see http://www.winsupersite.com/

So Paul Thurrott is your source? I don't consider that site a valid soruce
for this type of information.

If Windows 7 was on MSDN and then they pulled it, I am looking for a
statement as to why, and when it will come back?

No I was merely using his site of one of the many out there who have
discussed a public Beta staring around Jan '09. You will not get a formal
statement from Microsoft until it is time to publically announce it, so the
various sites of leaks, hints and insider leaked news etc are your only
source at this time.
If Windows 7 was on MSDN and then they pulled it, I am looking for a

As I point out above you will not get a public statement from Microsoft or a
private one to MSDN members until the Beta is available for release to those
communities.
If your question is directly about MSDN availability then you should post
that to the managed MSDN newsgroups, however you are unlikely to receive any
further details in a reply other than one along the lines of that the Beta
release will be made available to MSDN subscribers in early 2009 and its
availability will be communicated to MSDN subscribers via the usual
channels.

You have prepaid for Win 7?

Somebody who should know better deliberately released the Win 7 beta onto a
torrent. Once there, it was downloaded and seeded multiple times.

Why did the 'somebody' do this? Most likely a desire for kudos from peers
for screwing up the official release..

That the beta also appeared on MSDN is most likely down to an error by a
member of MS staff

But at least they don't have to use that piece of Shit OS called Ubuntu that
NOBODY wants. Remember, Ubuntu is FREE and still has less than one percent
of the desktop. That should tell you all you need to know about it.

All you post tells me is that you're a liar and impostor and need to

Doesn't matter the name on the post. What really matters is the content.
The content of the post is true. Ubuntu is crap and written by geeks for
geeks. No normal user needs to use Ubuntu on the desktop. You will go
crazy

Jan 15th, M$ is set to lay off up to 15% of it's worldwide workforce.
But you see, Vista sales are soooo good that they have nothing to do
with this big layoff.

Look until your eyes begin to bleed, bozo. It won't make any
difference.

It's so good that if you buy Vista, they'll *give* you Windows 7, aka
Vista SP3.
