"rtm.040803-2158:service pack 2. My understanding the release was 2180 but
my computer is not showing that. Oh, well, I will find out later when MS
updates my computer.
No, it will say that in "winver" (though he only placed the release version)
with the date/time stamp there. This simply means *rtm* "released to
maunfacturers" on *040803-2158* which is August 3, 2004 @ 21:58 (military
time).
Yes, for example, open Internet Explorer, and at the top, click "Help", then
"About Internet Explorer". You'll see next to "Version:" the number you want
"6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158". As you can see, it has 2180 within
that range, and this is true for other Windows programs you open, and choose
to see in their respective "Help" files.
