Hi computer people, I recently (03/29/07) bought a new toshiba laptop with
vista home premium all installed beforehand, when i go to use office (2007)
it asks for the product key ive tried numerous times putting in the key code
(and yes its correct)from the bottom of the laptop (which states product key)
but it says "the key is incorrect verify you have the correct key and retype
it"..anyway ive done that still no joy. do i have to hassle toshiba or the
laptop shop? oh and just because vista is pre installed do i only have a
trial version or the full product? v confusing but thanks if anyone can help
: )

The key code on the base of your laptop is for the product stated on the
same label "Microsoft Windows Home Premium"

Microsoft Office 2007 is a separate product, and will have been a trial
version..

Your key is only good for a trial balance...

When I bought a new laptop, which came with a trial version of Office, the
key was among the paperwork that came with the laptop. It should be in your
packet(s) of stuff (documentation, coupons, warranties, etc.).

In Start Menu\Programs\Microsoft Office, there should be a Microsoft Office
2007 60-Day Trial Readme, if Office is a trial version...

The label on the bottom of the laptop is for the Windows Operating syatem.
If you purchased Office 2007 with the computer, you should have a different
key for that application. If you have the trial version, it should ask if
you want to purchase it after the trial expires. There's probably a limited
key for the trial period.

The key on the bottom of the laptop is for Windows and not Office.

Check your documentation for the Office Product Key.
The Office key is normally on the CD/DVD package.
If you can not locate the key, you need to contact Toshiba.

Also, it Office a trial (Usually) or full version (you paid
significantly more)
The trial is limited in time.

Both Trial and full versions of Office require a Product Key.
