ROFL! I wanna get a Mac Mini actually, any idea's what they are like?
I used to have an old 25MHz (yes twenty five MHz) Mac, and it was
brilliant, but I suspect that they've moved on a bit since then. I'm
hoping to use it for just about everything other than games. I'd also
like to run Linux software on MacOS X if possible.

Sorry if it's a bit OT :-(

I wonder what kind of upgradability those ity-bity Mac Mini's have.
I'd sooner throw my $479 out on a system that I don't have to go to Apple to
replace a broken DVD-ROM drive with a $200 replacement part that only Apple
makes. It pisses me off to no end that on a 4 year old slot loading imac
one can only buy a used CD-ROM replacement that costs $95.

It's not great :-(

It uses laptop parts, so the hard disk can be swaped for a normal PC
laptop one. The DVD drive looks laptop sized, but I'm not certain
whether it is a laptop one or a modified laptop one. It takes one
PC2700 memory module, upto 1Gb which is the same as PC stuff. The PSU
is a brick-on-a-lead thing, and I believe it can only be brought from
Apple. Everything else is on the m/b which appears to be double sided
:-o. CPU, Radeon, sound, etc. is all on board. There is also a
Firewire port, and two USB ports for external drives etc.
