I cannot get my services.msc file open or any msc file open for that
matter. It seems after some researching that it needs to be open with
the microsoft management console but I don't know how to look for that
program. I tried going to control panel, associate a file type or
protocol w/a program and the .msc file doesn't even show up. the msc
file is located in the system32 folder so it exists. Can someone help
me? Thanks.

You can open services directly by
clicking the Start button and typing
SERVICES
and then hit enter.
Also you can get there by right clicking computer and click
manage
Services and applications

To open just the MMC console alone
Click start and type
MMC
then enter
and you will have to add the msc from the
File menu
Add/Remove Snap In.
Hope this helps ya.
Don't play around too much.

I use a desktop shortcut with the target

%SystemRoot%\system32\compmgmt.msc /s

to start it.

OR... click the start orb and type MANAGEMENT into the start-search
box.

If you right-click on My Computer, and choose Manage, what happens?

What should happen is that the management tools become available to you.

Don't you believe anything Paul Montgomery a sissy and a sack of crap
has to say.

And don't you worry about that inability to read/write English. You
obviously won't need it in whatever career path you choose.
