Where is the business tools menu located?

While using the training in Microsoft Online, I was directed to click on the
"business tools menu". I can't find a nything that says "business tools"
anywhere in my Outlook2003 with BCM software. What am I missing?

The Business Tools menu should be next to the Help menu. If not, BCM isn't
loaded properly.

Thank you for your response. It's not there, does that mean I have to
uninstall and reinstall, or is there another option?

Depends. What type of mail account do you use?

Patricia, I am having simialr problem. BCM doesn ot show up on disabled
list. Upon lacunching Outlook in the past, a pop up screen asked if I wanted
to load BCM. I always clieked"later". The past few times Outlook started
upm, tthe pop up screen no longer comes up. I don;t see bcm in the disabled
list and I have run "detect and repair"
Any suggestions.

Close Outlook. Go to Control Panels, then double click on Mail. Click on
Data Files. Try to add a new data file and choose Business Contact Manager
database as the file. See if that prompts you to create a new database.

Thank you. When I click "add" then "new" Business Cinhtact Manager appears.
That kicks off a "create new data base wizard which aske me tgo name the new
db. If I type in "Business Contact Manager" it repsonds that the name does
not include spaces

So what happens if you name the database BusinessContactManager?

I created the new data base BusinessContactManager. No new tolldbar appears,
BCM does not appear as a disabled item. BCM does however appear in the
folders list. I suppose that bcm is now enabled

Can I slectively import some contacts (business related) into bcm and leave
out my personal conyacts?

If so, how?

I am having the same problem except my BCM is not disabled. Now what do I do
to get the Business Tools on my menu?

YES YES YES - I FINALLY GOT IT WORKING, and the solution was in 3 clicks!
Michael Tessington is right on. But it took me a WHILE for his simple
concept to make sense in my head. The answer was TOO EZ, so I kept looking
past it into more and more posts, updates, etc.

WHAT I FINALLY DID - as suggested in this post by "Michael T._ to simply
CLICK the obvious - top row "HELP" word of the DROP-DOWN menu.
Then I clicked on "ABOUT OUTLOOK" (the version link) and ON that PAGE is yet
another button that says "DISABLED ITEMS." CLICK IT, and there was the
switch to TURN ON SBC.
The trick was that I had to DRILL DOWN 3-CLICKS into HELP, and past ABOUT
OUTLOOK to find it.
It was too simple - I have been looking, for a long time now, for something
more complicated. DOH! Guess that's my ZEN lesson for today!

THANX MS and MICHAEL,

I have the same problem however none of the solutions worked for me and it
seems to happen everytime I install the personal folders backup for outlook
03 or uninstall it. I have it listed in add menu items in properties and when
trying to add a check mark to the box it disallows me and it is not grayed
out. This was working for some months now the SQL is missing and the menu
link. Frustrated and confused. Help please.

Again thank you for this answer. Sweet and too the point. After opening up
Microsoft Outlook 2003 with business contact manager installed. Go to help |
About business contact manager for outlook. There was a disabled Items button
when clicking on it BCM was disabled just enable it then the activate the
dababase window comes up and all is well. After all that, you have to
restart the whole system I suggest a complete shutdown and reboot. Then all
should be well and MSSql should be running with your database, if in fact you
chose to share your database. If you don't then the MSSQL Desktop Server icon
in the system tray will show as disabled. Thanks again to Tinssington for the
help.
