Where is DELETE in WindowsExplorer? I can't find anything there to show the

No "delete" button anymore.

It's under "File", or under "Organize", or just right-click the file
you want to delete and select "delete" from the context menu.

You have tried right-clicking on the file (or files) and choosing "delete"?

You have at least these choices:

1. Click File | Delete, on the menu bar.

2. Right-click the file and choose Delete.

3. Click the file to select it, then press the delete key on the
keyboard.

4. Drag the file to the Recycle Bin.

Vista isn't ****ed up. You are too stupid to figure out how to use it.
Speak with Ringmaster our resident mental case and you and him can get
together and figure out Vista together.

Just FYI
they removed the ability to configure the toolbar just as you like it
instead they force you to go through loops (clicking first on organize
THEN on delete) just to delete a stupid thing...

Or they force you to right click and delete

or use the keyboard...

I don't like ANY of these options...

By the way the new live messenger 9 beta has remove the send button too,
now you have to press enter to send the message.

How dumb is that?

Sounds like you are very stupid

Yes, but then get the window asking if I'm sure I want to delete the file.
Why remove something as handy as the delete button on top of the page? Is
there any way to get rid of that annoying window asking if I'm SURE I want
the file deleted?

There is no "File" now in WindowsExplorer. Where are you finding the place
to return File to the WE window? I see "Organize" and "Views"..... where
is File?

One of the first things I worked to find after installing Vista ;-)

It didn't really bother me, as I've always been a "right-click" person....

The same way you did in XP - right click the trashcan, Properties, uncheck
"Display delete confirmation dialog"

That worked! :)))
If you really don't want to use keyboard command, why not just drag the
files with the mouse and drop them in the trash?

I never thought of that. ;-)

I can't imagine why. A newbie wouldn't think to look for it.

That's all part of the plan to wean us off the old ways of doing thing.
Many old features are still in Vista (and Office 2007), but hidden. You
gotta really, really want them in order to find them and make them
available.

The same way MS and the PC makers are trying to wean us off the parallel
port, serial port, and floppy disk. WinXP and Vista have crappy support
for
the older interfaces, making them such a pain to use, you'll want to stop
using them. Then they can stop making them.

Next round of software from MS will probably do away with menus
altogether.

My spouse has been considering an Apple Computer when the other old XP
machine bites the dust. I miss the floppy drive a lot on this PC. It was
something we all used here to move small files from on PC to another or send
small exe's to each other by snail mail that ISP anti-virus programs
snagged. Also, some of my software wont work on these Vista machines. We
have to keep the other old XP machine just to use the Epson scanner. It
works perfectly but there are no patches for this one made by Epson. It's
the 1200u scanner. The old printer will work but not the picture printing
feature. This really pisses us off. It's either keep the old XP to use the
scanner and picture printing software, or spend another few hundred bucks
for a new printer and scanner.

I haven't used a floppy disk for YEARS........and I mean
YEARS.........there's absolutely no need to these days....
