In every version of Windows I've ever seen, there's a shortcut to the Notepad
program in the Start menu > Accessories group. Or you can click Start menu >
Run and type Notepad in the box.
If that doesn't work, check that the program file notepad.exe is in the
C:\Windows folder where it belongs.
