where did they go?

I have 2003. I wanted to clear my deleted folder. I
created a new folder so I could move the messages,
without losing them. I highlited all the messages and
cliclced the move to folder button. A warning came up
telling me it was big and would take a while. It tok some
time, they were removed from the deleted file, but do not
show up in the new file. Any ideas as to where they may
be hiding? Thanks

Try using Advanced Find to find one of the known messages you had in your
deleted items folder.

Oh, and deleted item folder = TRASH!! Do you keep your lunch at work in the
wastebasket? Create a sub-folder for items you want to hold onto for a set
period of time and then set your archiving interval to delete them after
that period. Trash is trash and should be treated as such.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, jim asked:
