Where are they located

I altered a partition letter in Partition Manager so now the partition will
not boot.
Where are the letters, associated to the drives/partitions, located?

By booting a partition it means that it has a bootable OS on it. If he
changed the letter of the drive that his OS is running on, he wouldn't be
able to start windows. Unless he made a rescue disk, he will have to find
another way of changing it back, like, for example, taking out his HD,
putting it in another computer and using partition manager on there to reset
the partition order back.

Where is a partition letter stored? In the Registry? In the Boot Secter?

There are 2 partitions on the drive that are bootable. Could I use one of
them to fix the problem? If yes, what should I do exactly?
