!) where are the outlook pst files and how are they named?

I have 2 problems 1) I have a personal folder that has disappeared. Outlook
said one day "This folder is not available" now it's not listed with the
other folders?

2) I can't find the pst folders. Where are they located and how are they
named? I tried to run the "scapst.exe" but don't know what file to point it
to.

There are multiple reasons why this may have happened. What did you change on
your PC just before "one day"?

In Outlook click File>Data File Management and look or open the Mail applet in
Control Panel, click the Data Files button and look.

Thanks for the suggestion Brian, I was able to do as you said but, can't
find the file even after clicking on properties, the lnk it gives does not
exist on my disk> So still can not run scanpst.exe against the file.

Propertis says "documents
andsettings\bill\localsettings\applicationdata\microsoft" I can not find
"localSettings" on my disk.
 
Perhaps Local Settings is a hidden folder? Make hidden files & folders
visible from Windows Explorer | Tools | Folder Options.

The "Local Settings" folder is, as Pat says, hidden. The browsing feature
won't show you hidden files and folders. You have two choices. As Pat
indicates, you can enable viewing hidden files and folders. The other choice
is to just enter the entire, fully-qualified file name in the prompt window
without browsing.

Thanks Pat was the issue with the path. Now I will try to scanpst and see
what happenns. Thanks again. AZBill
