Where are memory dumps stored?

Yesterday, I had a blue screen stop error.
Windows, then started a physical memory dump. When complete, I rebooted my
computer.

Where exactly, is this memory dump stored, and can I learn anything from it?

I am running XP Pro SP2, with all updates.

Thanks,

Thanks,

It's whereever you specified it. Have a look in the Control
Panel / System / Advanced / Startup and Recovery / Settings.

Open Control Panel>System>Advanced>Settings under Startup

location(%SystemRoot%\Minidump).

By the by what's the error code?

Well, I did not write down the stop error, I guess I was thinking it might
log that somewhere.

I found the memory dump file, is there a way to actually read the contents
of a memory dump file?

Thanks,

Don

Whups, just found it at the aumha link ( could not get it to load earlier).
While vague, it would appear I have some sort of hardware issue, causing a
machine_check_exception.

I have pretty much all new hardware ( built this system about 4 months ago),
and all latest drivers.

Sounds like I have some serious troubleshooting to do...

Thanks,
