Where are custom search criteria stored?

We rebuilt a user's profile and they lost their 20 custom search folders.
Can you tell me where those are stored so I can try to recover them for this
user?

They are in the mailbox message store. What type of email account is it? If
exchange, did you look in the Search folders at the bottom of the folder
list?

Not sure how to answer your question about the type of email account. This
is an Active Directory user with a standard Outlook email account.
The user's Search Folders in Outlook has the 3 standard sub-folders: For
Follow Up, Large Mail, and Unread Mail. The user had many other search
sub-folders that are no longer displayed after we rebuilt her profile.

I found a discussion topic that mentioned files with an .occ extension. I
searched her profile for files with this extension and didn't find them.

Where does Outlook store the criteria/definition for the user-created Search
sub-folders?

They are in the mailbox message store. What type of email account is it? If
exchange, did you look in the Search folders at the bottom of the folder
list?

I'm not familiar with *.occ files - *.oss are office saved searches that are
used by advanced find in older versions of outlook.

Everything is stored under the search folder. Are you using exchange
server? If so, how many do you see in OWA?

We are using exchange server.
The user is only getting the three default search folders in OWA and not her
12 search folders that she used to have before we rebuilt her profile.

So the search criteria is stored on the exchange server and not in her
"C:\Documents & Settings\<username>\" profile?

Search criteria for search folders is stored in a hidden area of the mailbox
store, not as profile data.

Thanks. That stops me from chasing down that path.
Somehow then, her exchange mailbox store lost her search criteria, and the
search criteria is not buried in a hidden file somewhere in her profile.
