recovering my contacts

D

dirk

After installing windows xp prof., I have lost my contacts in my adress
book.

I could recover the *.pst (after a search) files, but how can I recover my
contacts?

Where on the harddisk are they stored? What is the extension?

thank you.

Didn't you store your contacts in the Contacts folder? If so they are in
your pst-file as well. Otherwise you most likely stored them in a pab-file.

Dirk,

Typically, Outlook manages your contacts within the same file you mail is
managaged. When you import the .pst that you recovered, your contacts should
be there as well.

Try an import and see if your contacts are there.

Typically, Outlook manages your contacts within the same file your mail is
managed. Attempt importing the .pst you recovered. You may very well find
your contacts in tact.
