Everytime I run a Windows Defender 'full scan', I get this message:

WhenUSaveNow, Action Taken: Remove, failed 0x80004005

Resources:

I have run every virus and spyware program on my computer and none of them
find this adware. Windows Defender finds it, but is unable to remove it.
Where do I go to find this and manually remove it?

It looks like the offending file is saved in your system restore files. Most
likely, the easiest way to fix this is to turn off system restore, run
another Defender scan , then turn on system restore and create a restore
point. Keep in mind that in turning off system restore you will lose all of
your previous restore points.

This detection is of items which are in your System Restore restore points.

If you are satisfied that your machine is running well, here's a
conservative way to fix this. You need to delete the old restore points
containing this data.

These items are not dangerous, unless the restore point is used--but if you
wish to get rid of the issue:

Start, all programs, accessories, system tools, disk cleanup.

Let it sit 'til it gets done evaluating --which will take a good while.

then go to the More Options tab (I can't look at an XP machine at the
moment, so I'm going from memory)--there's an additional tab with further
options--you can ignore the usual suspects. On that additional tab, in the
middle? is a choice to remove all but the most recent restore point. Choose
this, and hit apply, then OK.

That will eliminate all but the most recent restore point, which I'm hoping
is not the one with the old infection in it.

Thanks, JimR and Bill... I did as you said and the adware is now removed
from my computer.
