When using the Word Envelope Feature

I have a letter on my screen and when I use the envelope feature under tools,
letters and mailings, envelopes, the text in the envelope window comes out
double spaced on all lines, rather than single. This happens whether you
select the text or not. Any ideas???!!!

This is killing me. I have been researching this for a while and haven't
found any fix. I cannot always duplicate it. I need help.

The Envelope Address style is based on Normal, and by default the lines in
the address are separated by paragraph breaks, not line breaks. Have you
modified the Normal style to be double-spaced or to have Space Before/After?
In any case, you can directly modify the Envelope Address style to be
neither of these.

Suzanne,

I finally stumbled on the "styles" line of thinking this morning. I will
modify the users envelope address style to be single spaced instead of
double. I think that should rectify the problem.
