One would think that Microsoft would see all these
questions about the expiring version and let us all know
what they are going to do. Many of us do not like to wait
until the last day a program is active to make a decision.

Microsoft has already announced in these groups what they are going to do:
What they haven't done is to announce exactly when the update will be
available, and where to get it.
--------------------------------------
I would say that the expiration issue will be resolved fairly soon as we
will push forward the timebomb. We are in the final test pass on the next
release and as soon as we have finished the testing, it will be broadly
announced. The next version should put a dent in reducing the following
major issues:

1) July 31 Timebomb
2) LSP breaking.
3) Flying toasts when start bar is docked on the side.

I am real excited that these items will be fixed soon so we can focus on
finalizing beta 2.

They HAVE seen them, thousands of times - AND they have seen the answers
given thousands of times too. A beta is quite different than say the latest
version of MS Office. More information has been given for this beta than
you would ever normally see.

You're right that a lot more information and peer support has been available
in this group--partly 'cause you've helped!

OTOH, there's been some very rough stuff, too--they've used the HTML
interface, and pushed that in the product, but disabled the search facility,
so anyone coming in that door and not reading on to how to set up NNTP has
no way to easily search messages. And it doesn't work right in Firefox.

The full version will be available shortly after you stop typing in all
caps.

..........in the meantime, hold for an update that will extend the expriy
date for those who don't shout.
