when I type an adress in adress window does not go to that adress

Does anyone know how to stop my browser from going to an
xxx site rather than go to the site that I type in the
adress window. Everytime I type an adress and hit go it
goes to and xxx site of its choice and not the adress that
I typed.I got this problem from an email.
