When I try to insert sound or movie the program freezes

In Powerpoint

I can insert one of my pictures or sounds from my hard drive but if I try to
insert a clip the program freezes and I have to use Alt Ctrl and Del to close
it down

How are you inserting the clip?

What is the clip? Do you mean a movie clip? (Going by your subject line. But
in the body, you said you can insert a sound from your hard drive, so I
don't understand what exactly is causing you problems.)

Which version of PPT?

I am using Powerpoint 2003 and it was entirely my fault: I hadn't moved
clips over into the 'Clip Organiser' so when I clicked on that it went
looking for nothing and then froze !
