When I try to check disc it wont?

Do i have to have my start up programs running in the
run>msconfig for the check disk to work when It sais
exclusive access to the drive and its supposed to start on
reboot but when I reboot I get no indication if it has
done anything? I shut those start up programs off cause it
makes my computer login slow. Im not sure if their is
somthing not starting that should but it hasnt given me a
problem of course untill now. lol

Hi,

You should see checkdisk running when you reboot. Before
the windows logo appears you should get a blue coloured
screen with white text telling you that checkdisk is
running.

Take a look here to try different switches.
