What do i do?? My computer starts up and goes threw the process of booting
up, but then i get one beep from the computer and this message "f1 to restart
or f2 to enter setup" shows up. there is nothing said before to identify this
problem. When i hit F1 the message repeats itself. when i hit F2 i enter
setup but i find nothing wrong with it. i can't enter my desktop from this
point.

During the startup if i were to hit F12 i enter a menu. I can select a
number of options. I can enter safe mode, set-up, normal, or utilities
partition. Only the utilities partition works. All the other options lead to
the same message.

Can someone help me???

Before I format everything and this is something i really dont want to do.

Something is wrong with your hardware. Next time you see the message, enter the BIOS setup and look through all the menus for a "Load Fail-Safe Settings" or "Load Factory Default" settings option and use that setting and see if your computer still has issues.

This message usually indicates a BIOS setting problem. These problems are
usually cause by a weak CMOS/BIOS battery. You can replace this battery
since it is usually a coin-cell watch battery.

If you can, before you change the battery, make a copy of all the BIOS
settings because when you swap out the battery every setting will revert to
default.

That is from the machine's BIOS, saying all is not well. Well before
things ever get near Windows. May be just a flat on - board battery not
retaining settings; may be more serious hardware trouble
