When I send a single email, status indicator "sending 3 emails"

I've tried using different email accounts. Always from the account that I'm
sending an email from, it will indicate that I'm sending two more emails than
I'm actually sending. 1 becomes three, 2 becomes four.

Checking the sent items box -- nothing shows up except the emails that I
intended to send.

I've only had this problem since upgrading to Office 2007

I'd wager you have three accounts defined in Outlook. There seems to be an
issue with Outook 2007 wherein the number of items queued for sending
appears to be larger by the number of extra accounts you have. I believe
it's a cosmetic issue, however. Outlook isn't really trying to send two
more messages than it has. Perhaps it will be addressed in Office 2007 SP1,
due out soon.

Yes, I have three accounts that I manage with Outlook. Your answer makes some
sense. Hopefully SP1 will take care of the problem.

Thx
