when I hit the delete key I get questioned no/yes

When I'm in Microsoft ooutlook I try to delete a section of words and I hit
the delete key on the keyboard I'm always questioned (delete no/yes) and I
have to type in
(n or y). There must be a rule or box that has been checked but I can't
find it in the options menu. Thanks!
 
Version of Outlook? Using Word as the editor? What do you have set on your
Recycle Bin properties for confirmation of delete?

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.
