When I 'enable' the driver for Nvidia Geforce 4Ti the screen freez

When I click 'enable' for the driver for my graphics card via the Sytem
properties|Hardware|device manager tab the screen/computer freezes.

I have re-installed XP and updated to SP2 and downloaded the latest driver
from www.nvidia.com but still have the same problem.

So at the moment I'm running XP with the driver disabled.

I have the following:
Motherboard: ECS K75A
Graphics card: Nvidia Geforce 4Ti

Can anyone help me out please?

You mean you are using Base Video (VGA) for your video drivers? Try a
different, known-working video card. Your card may be failing. Open the
computer and observe the fan. If the problem goes away with a test
video card, you know it is time to replace the older card.
