"When I close the lid: Do Nothing"

I choose the above option, so then why does Vista disable my notebook
display and re-arrange displays when I close the lid on my laptop?

I start playing a movie, set to full screen on TV-Out, then I would like to
close the lid on my laptop so that the kittens don't walk over the keyboard.

I'd call that a bug.

You're in the settings for power management, not the monitor
configuration. No bug.

That did cross my mind, however this behaviour didn't happen pre-Vista.

Carl,

Click on the battery icon on your notification area and choose from the
pop-up menu. The Power Options are totally different from XP.

Thanks Charles. I do understand where the power management functions are
though. My problem is that pre-Vista, "Do nothing when I close the lid",
meant do nothing at all, whereas on Vista it means "realise that the lid has
been closed, re-arrange displays, but just do nothing power-saving related".

If you go to Control Panel/ Power Options Do you not have a Lid options
