When I click on the send/recieve option some of my emails are com.

I have noticed when I try to recieve my messages, sometimes emails will pop
up and then disapear. I cannot find them or I am looking for them in the
wrong folder or archive folder. Do I have settings set wrong? This has
happened several times and they are messages that I need.
