When I click on a folder in windows explorer, the search window opens up
instead of the folder I clicked on. How do I stop this from happening?

regsvr32 /i shell32.dll this did not work for me.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I only posted this once. I kept getting an error the first 3 times saying try
again later, that's what I did. When you answer a persons question try not to
give orders before finding out why something happened. And span is spelled
span not psan.

This is a known issue with the web interface to these support groups (and
yes, it's annoying). The easy way to resolve it is to not use the web
interface, but rather a faster, more efficient newsreader. You will find
instructions on setting up OE for this here:

I had the same problem. The following worked for me:
1) Start Regedit
2) Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT \ Directory \ shell AND HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT \
Drive \ shell]
3) Edit the default value to be explorer or none
