Double-click won't open folders

Just this week, when I open my computer, I can no longer open a folder
by double-clicking. After trying a multitude of solutions I found
here, including:

regsvr32 /i shell32
regsvr32 /i shell32.dll

and editing the Drive Directory and Folder shell portions of HKLM.

Now, after running all of those in various combos, when I double-click
on My Computer, I get the normal XP view of my drives. I double-click
on a drive - nothing. I right mouse-click and select Open - Nothing.
It will open a new window if I click explore, but I can't open a folder
there either. I'm completely baffled about what to try. I even tried
to use System restore and it couldn't pull any of the older restore
points I selected, even from a couple of days ago. Following advice I
found elsewhere, I turned off the feature, then turned it back on.

Anything else I should try? Thank you!!!

Paul,

Download and apply the "Directory" and "Folder" association fixes from this URL:

Thank you, Ramesh. I tried that and it still doesn't work. I notice
that when I double-click on the "C" drive icon, I see the hour-glass
for 1/2 sec and then nothing. When I right-mouse click and select
"open" it also does nothing. I'm running a virus-scan from TrendMicro
online now. I used Ad-aware and all it found was tracking cookies,
which I deleted. Any other suggestions?

Paul,

Can you export the following keys to seperate .REG files, and post the contents here?

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder
