When I choose "Shut Down the computer" from the Start Menu, my computer
restarts, i cant shut it down properly, please help!!

Hi,

You haved a device driver or program that is running and isn't Windows
XP compatible. You need to ID that program or device and uninstall it and
get a compatible replacement in its place. What is your Computer Brand and
Model Number? Switch version of XP are you using?
