wheel mouse optical driver problem?

Hi, I am using a MS wheel mouse optical USB and PS/2 compatible on a IBM T42.
I am able to scroll the wheel on most applications, with the exception of
Visual Basic Pro 6.0. I am able to scroll in InterDev.

As a result, installed IntelliPoint 5 as per MS Mouse and Keyboard website.
Still giving the same result. This same mouse is able to scroll in VB on a
Compaq desktop, with IntelliPoint 4.1.

Can someone help? Thanks!

At home here, my scroll wheel doesn't work with every app either. It's
not a hassle.
