Mouse drivers that work for most apps?

Chet Shannon

Hi,
I have an Intelimouse Explorer 4.0 with MS Intellipoint
5.0 mouse drivers and I was having problems being able to
use the "scroll wheel" while editing VBA Excel program
code so someone said I should use the 4.1 Intellimouse
drivers because they worked better. Well the problem is
that I can use the "scroll wheel" for the intellimouse
but now with the "4.1 Intellipoint" driver I can't use
the "horizontal scroll" feature on the intellimouse.

Is there a driver out that will work both in Excel VBA
and also enable the horizontal scrolling features?

Thanks
Chet

There was a mention of a Intellipoint 5 update for VBA system.

Unfortuneately, we may have to wait for Intellipoint 5.1 (or later???)

I also have problems with certain apps with my newly adquired intelliMouse Optical

I always set the wheel button to Close apps, but it doesn't work with several of them, including FL studio, Outlook express, the device manager...and many others

Same happens with the wheel, some apps like FL studio does nothing when you move it

Microsoft, this is important!

I have these problems too, and thats why I'm here on this bizarre newsgroup

I always set the middle button to close windows, but this doesn't work on every app (as it worked on my old A4tech) also the wheel does nothing on certain apps. Apps with this are FL Studio, Outlook Express, ...and many others

I'm using IntelliMouse Optical 1.1 with the latest IntelliPoint soft

Microsoft this is important!!

The first message was sent. However, the answer is that this isn't
Microsoft, but a public newsgroup providing peer-to-peer tech support
for the Windows XP operating system. I'm not sure why you think this
newsgroup is "bizarre", but if you do then you haven't got much
experience with Usenet.

Handling of mouse buttons is always enabled by the *application*, not
the operating system. If you want a particular program to support
certain mouse clicks or gestures, you'll need to contact that program
mftr. and see if they have a wish list or the like. The mouse behavior
you want has to be coded into the software. So this is not a Microsoft
or Windows XP issue.
