What's wrong with MS News server ?

What's wrong with MS News server ? Yesterday is was Read Only. Today I am having much
trouble in reading posts. I keep getting the below error message. If I unsubscribe to a
forum and then leave OE the open OE then subscribe I can then view the posts that were
supposedly "no longer on the server". Plus...access is real slow !

What's going on here ?

News servers regularly expire articles as they get older to make space available for newer
articles.
IMAP servers can be accessed by multiple e-mail programs at the same time. If you are using
two programs to access your mail the list of messages maybe out of date. Use the refresh
command to update this list.

same probs here Dave .... I guess they're having some real fun
sorting them out ;o)

They have spam filters on the servers, but Swen was posted a few times.
Perhaps they made an adjustment to the filters to prevent that. When they
mess with the servers response gets screwy. Changing to a new identity
got me access to current postings yesterday. There some related posts in

What's wrong with MS News server ?

I don't know. I could try and guess, but the most general thing I can say,
without detailed knowledge, is that it probably has something to do with the
W32.Swen.A@mm virus. Perhaps some combination of the number of people trying
to access the servers to post about it plus attempts by infected computers
to post the actual virus (I have seen some that got posted!), plus the
attempts by the server administrators to deal with it all by tweaking the
settings.
