What's this on my desktop ?

The system is XP with all the patches.

All of a sudden I've got a "toolbar" of some sort has shown up on the
left side of my screen. It's not the taskbar, which is at the bottom,
autohiding, and when it pops up it's on top of this thing


It has the following text lines. The indented lines are pulldown
menues.

Folder tasks
Make a new folder
Share the folder
Other places
My Documents
Shared folders
My Network Places
Details
Internet Explorer
System FOlder

I can't click on it, left or right, and I can't drag it anywhere.

I try to keep my OS stock. I don't add any tweaks. I'm in classic
desktop. I scan for sypware, and rarely use IE. IE is behaving
normally.

WTF is this bar and how do I make it go away?

Right Click "Anywhere" on the Taskbar, Hover over Toolbars.
From the fan-out listing check to see if you've inadvertently setup
a new Toolbar - if so Uncheck to remove

No joy. I 've got no new toolbars and the only thing checked on that
list is quicklaunch.
