Hi,

I posted this originally on comp.hardware but got no response. Maybe
someone here can help.

I'm looking to upgrade the memory on my Toshiba notebook with PC100
SDRAM and was wondering if there's any difference in quality among
manufacturers such as PNY, LT, etc. Anyone I should avoid? TIA.

go to kingston.com or pny.com and use memory config tool
to find your computer for memory. google.com and search
for memory configuration tools.

you will need manuf/name/model/etc.
it is real neat tool.

use nextag.com to find mailorder source.
also try microcenter.com and/or frys-outpost.com to get
good prices.

might try your local stores....search in
bestbuy.com-------has sale on memory this week
officemax.com
compusa.com
staples.com

Notebooks typically us SoDIMM memory not SDRAM. I would buy the with the
best price in mind.

I would recommend http://www.crucial.com/ Guaranteed to work, free
shipping, and half the price of Kingston on many. I tried going with
bargain brand memory that didn't work costing me money for restocking fees,
shipping, etc...

No contest, in my experience. www.crucial.com
