What's running on my PC ?

I am having a problem with my PC continuing to be 'busy' for about 5 minutes
after start-up. The little red light on the front of the PC stays on (and
flickering) for about 5 minutes after the PC has started and the mouse
pointer is very 'jerky' when i move the mouse. I do a ctrl-delete to see
what's running but there's not a lot of info there. After about 5 minutes
things seem OK.

I was wondering if there was a program which would show me exactly what the
PC was doing while this red 'busy' light is on.

I have also recently noticed that whilst playing mp3s if i open a new
program then the mp3 sound stutters a lot, which never used to happen.
System restore did nothing neither !

Cheers
Andy

to find out what is loading on your pc at startup, click Start>run> and type in mscofig
click the startup tab, and disable anything you do not absolutely need to run when your pc starts.

Also, click start>control panel>administrative Tool>services.
You can also see what services run automatically, or those that run manually. For informatin on any of the items, just highlight it, you will get a message box, on the right, explaining what it does.

Mouse center...maybe something here will help calm down your mouse.
