What's best tool to back up data from WinXP Home to CD Burner?

You could always create the backup file in XP (onto your hard drive) then
write it to CD. If it exceeds 700-800MB you may need to create more than one
backup file. Or if you have 2 hard disks with plent of space just create the
backup on the second hard disk.

If you are worried about fire or theft then you probably need to buy
soemthing to do the job if you don't want the added overhead of breaking the
backup down into CD sized files.

Im trying to get something set up so once I select the data to back up, I
can save the setup for re-use avoiding the need to pick out all the files
and folders over and over again.

Any ideas?

Freeware application if possible..
Thanks

2. The NTBackup program, provided with XP, won't backup to your CD
recorder.

3. Some backup programs will (do some of your own google homework
here, don't ask us to search the web for you), but require
packet-writing software which you will have to provide separately.
WinXP doesn't provide native packet-writing capability.

If the post belongs here - why wouldn't Outlook Express place the cursor
here on replies????????? I also thought protocol suggested posters leave a
signature of some kind too - not true?????

Outlook Express is lame, doesn't quote properly, and encourages top
posting. That's why it doesn't put the cursor in the right place.
Signatures are always optional, but if used are under two dashes and a
space and 4 lines or less. The standard two dashes and a space enable
signatures to be stripped by people who don't want to see them. I don't
know if OE has this ability or not. Lots of people use OE because it
comes with Windows, but there are other newsreaders and mail clients
available in the Windows world.

Since I don't use Windows to read mail and news, I can only suggest you
download a few different clients and try them. Mozilla (full) has mail
and news, Gravity is an old but much loved newsreader, Other
newsreaders are Xnews and Agent. I don't know if Eudora (mail) does
news. Do a search on Google or your favorite software website for mail
& newsreaders.
