When viewed on ppt 2002 everything is good. but when I view the same program
on ppt 2003 there is a slide where the animation and one object do not appear.
I have installed sp1 in office and have run all updates on xp home edition.
Any suggestions?

I checked... all drivers are up to date and backing the acceleration off had
no effect. Still searching for help. thanks

Wow, I can't think of anything that would cause this.

Maybe it's just a display issue? Have you updated video drivers and changed
hardware acceleration?

Is the animated object an animated GIF, by any chance?

I am not sure. it is a commercial ppt program supplied by an organization.
I do note, however, when i view the slide in ppt 2002 edit mode that the
object does not appear. however in the slideshow mode it works. in ppt 2003
it never appears.

Is it possible that it's a linked video file?

I just spoke with a rep from the organization... he is 99% sure it is an
animated gif file.

In addition to Sonia's question re video, I'm wondering if it's an embedded
Flash (SWF) file, maybe.

Is PPT 2002 and 2003 loaded on the same machine, or are you viewing/testing
this on two different computers?

Ah, that could be the issue, then.

For a thorough explanation, see Sonia's information about the various
versions of PPT and how they handle animated GIFs.
