What to do with my extra drives??

Desktop drives go in 3.5, notebook in 2.5

Nope, the 2.5s are for laptop drives.

I think someone is being just a tad sarcastic ....

Assuming they're standard desktop hard drives you need the 3.5" enclosures.

.... keeping in mind that a 3.5" drive is about 4" wide.
