What to do when the Administrator password has been changed?

I need to install some software on a user's machine. We have two machines w/
Vista and i got one to accept the Administrator account. But on this other
machine it is being very frustrating. I did the workaround on the first
machine editing the registery by adding the special accounts key in the
HKLM/Software/microsoft/windowsNT/CurrentVersion/Special accounts/userlist
and it worked fine w/ no hitches but this other PC......first i tried to
login as the administrator but it tells me that the username and password are
incorrect.....WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!!??!?!!?!?!?.....thinking i misspelled I
typed again.....and again.....and now it locked the
account.....WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you refering to the Built-in Administrator account? If so, this account
does not have a password associated with it. If someone assigned a password
to this account, you'll need to ask them.
