What Services Access Disk Frequently ??

K

Ken Stuart

Hello,

I have a PC that I use only for running media players, so it only needs to use
the hard disk drive during boot/startup.

I then set the Power Management to spin down the drive after the minimum amount
of lack of use (3 minutes), but the drive spins back up every 30 or 60 minutes
(roughly - I've never timed it).

I still have the following services running:

Automatic Updates
Event Log
Network Connections
Plug And Play
RPC
Server
Windows Management Instrumentation
WMI Driver Extensions
Workstation

Which of these runs many times a day - but not continually ?
