All of a sudden my laptop can't find the shared printer that is hardwired to
my desktop--I've gone through the 'add a printer' stuff, and no option
works: I don't remember this being difficult when I originally set it up.

So where should I go for help?

Why is "wireless" in the subject line if your printer is "hardwired"?
Assuming you are running XP --

If it's a printer problem, microsoft.public.windowsxp.print_fax
If it's a network problem, microsoft.public.windowsxp.network_web

But you'll need to specify more than "no option works," such as: what
have you done; what error messages are issued; how is your network
configured; what OS on the various machines (XP Home or Pro; what
service pack); can you access Internet from any/all machines; can you
share files between any/all machines; what happened just before this
problem started; are there *any* software firewalls or a/v apps; etc.
