What newsgroup?

I was posting Q&A at microsoft.public.dotnet.vb.general
from outlook express, but that group seeems to have
disappeared off the face of the earth. Why are there so
many similarly targeted newsgroups and is this the main
one that vb.net developers are using?

I have never seen that ng.

Why are there so many similarly targeted newsgroups
and is this the main one that vb.net developers are using?

It was alive and working through early yesterday morning, then just stopped
accepting or displaying any new posts.

There are some news servers that host a newsgroup by that name... I was
confused by it at first too. You can navigate to it through
groups.google.com:

http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=...=off&group=microsoft.public.dotnet.vb.general

It's not part of the official Microsoft hierarchy. If you use the
news.microsoft.com server in Outlook Express, you won't see it. It must be
some sort of unofficial newsgroup that's hosted on other servers.
