What minimum "Processes" are required for XP Home to operate correctly?

Having trouble getting Windows XP Home to turn off or
restart, without first logging off.
With No "Applications" running, What are the minimum
required "Processes" that have to be running for Windows
XP Home operating system to function? Listing "Image
Name" and "User Name".
OR, What "Processes" are running after Windows XP Home
operating system is first installed?
thanks, Chad

I have been having a problem also turning the machine off or restarting. Through a long tortuous process I have decided that ccApp in the startup folder is at fault, at least with it disabled I'm now able to shut down or restart. However I have no idea what this program does!
